No cable on stock - ordered...

New clutch cable has been ordered, they didn't have any on stock - it's the drawback of a "rare" bike, so I'm not really complaining. Luckily I already got my car back from the garage - rear bumber is nice and shiny again and I have _some_ wheels to commute to office and back.

This is absurd!

To my somewhat great surprise I heard today that my Breva has been towed to Toulon! It's obviously the second closest official Guzzi dealer, but some 150 km (or 100 miles) from where I live. Then, I'm supposed to get prepaid train tickets to travel to Toulon for getting the bike back to home - after it has been fixed, of course.

Good service, I guess, but what a hassle for changing a simple clutch cable! Hmmm, let's see what happens next...

The clutch cable snapped broke

The Moto Guzzi Assistance service towed my Breva to the garage (hopefully) after the clutch cable had went "hors service". The cable broke only few kilometers from the office and I cleverly just kept riding on while trying to figure out what's wrong with that  clutch lever! Clever me. Luckily the traffic was not too bad, so I could ride back to the office without the clutch. I was a bit surprised to find out that even the downshifts went smoothly. Then, finding the neutral at the right time... aah... forget it. The tow truck appeared 1.5 hours after the call to the Moto Guzzi Assistance, not too bad.

Anyway, it's monday and the local dealer, Aigle Motos is closed, so I'm without the bike now. Perfect timing - also my car is going to the garage tomorrow! Hope the Breva will get fixed tomorror, as the Peugeot will stay in the garage for couple of days - it's getting a new rear bumber and some paint job to recover from the accident in Montreux, Switzerland.

Low noise flip-up helmet

The difference is incredible! I have now done some 400+ km with my new flip-up  Schuberth C2 helmet, and it's so good that I need to publicly give credit to it. I have no idea how many decibels the actual noise level difference is, but it is like a night and day!! C2 really is one quiet helmet.

The C2 also feels much more stable at higher speeds, even when riding at windy conditions - we had quite a strong Mistral (it's the wind, not the slip-on silencer brand) here during the weekend, and I would say that I could do 140 km/h more comfortably than 120 km/h with old helmet. Another positive thing is that when previously I could practically hear just the wind noise at higher speeds, now I actually *only* hear the engine sound - and what a nice sound it is! Passing a car, hit 7000 rpm and then you release the throttle to slow down a bit, hmmmmmm!!!
