Hi --
In your "Moto Guzzi Breva V750ie Maintenance Leaflet", you show "Oil filter wire frame (clean)" -- I just changed my oil & filter on my 2004 Breva 750. Didn't see any wire frame -- the service manual didn't mention one, either.
If there is one, can you tell me where it is & how to clean it?
Thanks!

Hi again;
I am aware this is a blog and not a forum, but anyway it's the only site I have found concerning the Breva (in a to me understandable language, i.e. not italian...)
So: Somebody glued a printed sticker in 7 languages inside my use+maintenance book telling me to use 1800 cc of SAE 5W40 and NOT 2000 cc of 20W50. Why is that? Anybody?
(Well I am living in Sweden. The southern part, and temperature will never exeed 30°. Summertime. But it IS written in 7 languages, including italian and spanish. And yes, Pexi, I do know that it can be very cold in Imatra...)

Pexi replies: 1800 cc is correct quantity, changed due to possible problems caused by too high oil level. I have not heard about oil viscosity change.
Also, I bought an oil-thermometer from german Louis. The oil-temperature never seems to exeed 110°, which is good. But again, for you guys living in a warmer climate, it could be useful. If you buy the Louis-gadget, you would need an adapter for the fitting. The Louis-thermometer for the Guzzi-models would be delivered with a M20/1,5 thread, and you would need a M25/1,5 thread. Such adapters can be found at electricians wholesalers. Don't buy the plastic version ;-) but the brass version....

Joe,
I think you have misread the torque settings I've listed: the figures in my schedule are in Nm, not in ft/lbs! 30 ft/lbs your dealer has given is correct - it is actually 40.7 Nm (and within the range I listed).
Have a nice wrenching session :)

Hi Pexi,
very nice schedule. Thanks for putting this together. I do have one question. On your schedule, you list the head bolt torque as 39 ft/lbs. My dealer mentioned 30 ft/lbs. could you let me know where your info came from? I wonder if there is a difference between a Breva sold in France & one in the U.S. Also, mine is a 2004 Breva...could there be a difference there?
All the best,
joe
